Description
The Physicals only existed from 1978 until 1980, but made a big impact in such a short time. Pretty much a Punk Rock Supergroup, a changing line up included Alan Lee Shaw (The Maniacs), John Towe (Generation X and Chelsea), Alan Gibbs (UK Subs) and Paul Cook (Sex Pistols). They toured with Thin Lizzy and would have been produced by Paul Cook and Steve Jones (but Steve was too busy!).
The Physicals played powerful and melodic new wave, sounding very much like the New York Dolls. The word 'anthemic' springs to mind. It takes a brave group to cover an Iggy Pop song, but an even better one to improve on the original as the Physicals do with Lust For Life.
Skulduggery comes with a 12 page booklet offering an excellent introduction to the band.
