Description
Words like 'Classic' and 'Landmark' are often used, over used, for cds that perhaps don't deserve them. Road To Ruin is one that deserves all the praise that has been heaped on it over the years.
Originally released on vinyl in 1970, this release has been remastered and has the excellent Here I Am written by Beverley Martyn added as a bonus track.
Too many fine tracks here that stand out to mention, the overall effect is one of great beauty. Road To Ruin also saw the start of John's collaboration with Dave Pegg and particularly Danny Thompson that would last for so many years, and also the first hint of his later work.
The second and last album which featured both John and Beverley Martyn.
