Description
The great Socialist singer/songwriter Dick Gaughan was voted as one of the top 10 Folk Voices of the 20th Century by listeners of the Mike Harding Show on BBC Radio 2. Praise indeed, but you can see why from listening to Lucky For Some, Dick's release from 2006.
Dick's albums often contain a number of songs composed by other musicians, but Lucky For Some has all but one of the tracks composed by the great man himself (the exception here is Anna Mae written by Jim Page).
Dick Gaughan has been a professional musician since 1970, and was previously a member of Five Hand Reel, Boys Of The Lough and was the founder of Clan Alba. His musical tastes are wide, his powerful voice and skilled guitar playing are often used to tell great tales from history, but always with an eye for the present.
