Description
New release from Leon Rosselson, the latest in a very long of recordings showing the art of political songwriting at its best. There seems little point in saying to much about A Proper State, listen to this cd and judge for yourself.
As usual Leon is supported by the finest of musicians, Roy Bailey, Martin Carthy, Sue Harris, John Kirkpatrick, Fir Shapur, Miranda Sykes and the Sheffield Socialist Choir. Its a real treat to hear Leon and Roy Bailey singing together on Barney's Epic Homer.
2 sides of Leon's enormous ability are shown by the opening track, Conversation On a Mobile which humorously and so accurately highlights the idiocy of peoples need to talk on their mobile phones, and then Faslane 365 recalls 2 wet and cold days he spent as part of the protests outside the Trident nuclear base at Faslane in Scotland.
