Description
Tom Waits has always come rated very highly at Four Dogs Music, and Asylum Years is an absolute cracker of a cd. This is a collection of songs released between 1974 to 1980, now digitally remastered.
It always hard to understand, with a voice as hard as nails and songs about the seedier side of life, how Tom Waits can write such poignant and touching songs such as Kentucky Avenue and the classic Ruby’s Arms. The opening track Diamonds On My Windscreen is pure jazz and then moves on through Bruce Springsteen territory until you get to his magnificent version of Somewhere from West Side Story.
Many of the tracks on this fine cd will leave you breathless, and anxious to listen to more of his extensive catalogue of releases.
Tom Waits is a unique talent, enjoy this cd.
