Description
Another classic release from Tom Waits time with Asylum Records in the 1970s. In Foreign Affairs you begin to hear the move away from his earlier more jazz influenced music, to the greater use of strings and more grand arrangements, not least on the instrumental opening track Cinny's Waltz.
A great duet with Betty Midler on I Never Talk To Strangers and the title track itself are other highlights on this release.
Always the great poet, his skill at painting pictures with words is further highlighted on this fine cd.
