Description
US folk singer Steve Suffet describes himself as an old fashioned folk singer, but the values he sings about are just as relevant in today’s harsh times. The title track is about urban gentrification and the loss of affordable goods, services and housing.
Low Rent District is a limited edition release and contains 18 tracks, a mixture of Steve’s own songs, some traditional tunes and inspired covers from Woody Guthrie, Si Kahn and The Carter Family.
A clutch of top musicians give superb support to this worthwhile release.
Steve's other 2 cds, Now The Wheel Has Turned and I've Been Up On The Mountain are available in the UK through Four Dogs Music.
