Description
Shining Spirit is a beautiful and moving CD from Jamyang Yeshi and his family. Separated by continents but united by their love of music and their shared culture.
This remarkable release was recorded both in Canada and in Tibet (a country where Jamyang and his brother Danak Tsundue can no longer return to), then dubbed together to reunite this extraordinary family in song for the first time in many years.
Jamyang describes the project as “Tibetan music is like a dream that we hope will come true in this world, in this lifetime. And we hope to share this small gift with others who share our dream of a peaceful world and a peaceful Tibet. It is also a wish for the preservation of Tibetan culture, a long life for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and for his safe return to Tibet.”
Beautifully packaged in a three fold sleeve with extensive sleeve notes, the CD was produced by the Tara Café Project in Canada which seeks to promote Tibetan culture through music.
