Description
Superb live recording from Jon Fromer who was described by Emma’s Revolution as the ‘soulful-est man in activist song’. This CD shows why!
Think of Van Morrison, in his relaxed soul/RnB mode, but with sharp political lyrics and you wouldn’t be too far away.
A genuine warmth and respect for the lives of working people and the need for a more peaceful world stand out on this release. Coupled with the outstanding soul/blues/folk influences in the music and this is a real classic CD.
The title track We Do The Work stands out, a celebratory acapella rendition ‘We do the work, this is our land’. Lyrical influences could come from Woody Guthrie and Bruce Springsteen but the glorious musical melting pot that led to this release is all Jon’s own.
