Description
1983 release from the ever listen-able Dick Gaughan, especially for those of a leftist political persuasion. A follow up to his hugely successful Handful of Earth CD, and where Gaughan proclaims it was politically ‘time to stop reporting and start participating. This album was my putting that into action’.
Written as a rebuttal of the prevailing anti communist bias of that era. A time when the problems presented by capitalism where often overlooked in the fierce battle of ideologies. That the chickens from that time are now seen to be coming home to roost, shows how correct his vision was.
A first rate album combining great music with a strong and principled message. Now re-issued on Appleseed Recordings with 2 bonus tracks.
