Description
We can’t praise this release highly enough. The Wrong Sunshine marks Ray Hearne out as a major talent in the UK folk scene.
His strong Northern roots reach out to issues around the world, particularly illustrated on the splendid Baghdad –On–Dearne.
The songs are political in nature and reflect the Northern world of coal and iron and steel and show the strong family and community background he comes from.
Released on the No Masters label, a northern based co-operative which is indeed the ‘major force in roots music’ stated in the sleeve notes. Other No Masters artists feature such as Coopes, Boyes & Simpson and Chumbawamba.
If you haven't come across the music of Ray Hearne before, give yourself a treat and listen to this album.
