Mouth To Mouth - Rory McLeod
Product Description
This is an exceptional double CD from the great Rory McLeod, who comes very highly rated at Four Dogs Music. Over 2 hours of exuberant, joyous, moving and strikingly original music.
Rory sings about love, life and politics and his music covers folk, world, jazz and a touch of soul. Some tracks on Mouth To Mouth reminded us of Billy Bragg while a couple, quite strangely conjured up Lily Allen! But Rory McLeod is a very much his own person and musical comparisons don’t count for too much.
The vocal accompaniment of Aimee Leonard adds hugely to the overall sound of this CD.
The fact that Rory is not an even bigger name in the music ‘business’ has nothing to do with his undoubted talent and originality, but perhaps something to do with the title of one of the stand out tracks I’m A Rebel Trying To Govern Myself.
Hard to pick out individual tracks on such a strong album, but his version of Ewan Macoll’s Joy Of Living leaves its mark.
If only all music was as good as this…………
