raison d'etre - Dave Swarbrick
Product Description
A very special album from the folk icon that is Dave Swarbrick. Eight years in the making and featuring the talents of not only the finest fiddle player in the country but also both Martin Carthy and John Kirkpatrick, amongst others.
The opening track features the Canadian reggae group the Jackie Wilson Band and works really well. The two tracks which include the exquisite piano playing of Beryl Marriott are particularly poignant as, having been a huge inspiration to Dave Swarbrick throughout his career, she sadly passed away shortly after the album was finished.
The fiddle playing of Swarbrick is just outstanding throughout.
Dave Swarbrick thinks he won’t be able to repeat an album like this. Listening to it you would have to agree.
