The very great Utah Phillips died in 2008 leaving a huge void in the world of political folk music. The love and respect he was held in by his musical peers is shown by the release of this excellent double CD, Singing Through The Hard Times.
With songs written by Phillips or sung by him throughout his long career, tracks are performed by the likes of Tom Paxton, Emmylou Harris and Mary Black, Pete Seeger, Faith Petric and many more.
Released on Ani Difranco’s Righteous Babe label, all proceeds will be going to the family of Utah Phillps.
