This a remarkable collection of 61 songs on 4 cds (over 280 minutes) from ‘one of the nation’s (US) most unforgettable characters……..What a joy now to have his ‘songbook’ available to anyone with a CD player’. That was Pete Seeger’s words not ours. This comes with a 12 page colour booklet and is an inspirational account of over 30 years of fine, principled performing.
A must.
Utah Phillips, born in the US in 1935, has been described variously as a folk singer, hobo, anarchist, storyteller, poet, union and peace activist. So, we like the sound of him then. His music reflects his political and social beliefs, riding the trains and his pacifism as determined by his spell in the Korean War.
Very well respected for his work over the years, Utah was nominated for a Grammy Award and continues to perform.
